Finaly I worked on these video material. Again I watched these videos, that field-sounds, that colour, that spring, feeling of freedon, full of inspiration. Today (12.02.2025) it is still in winter, minus temperature. I see those videos and looking forward of coming spring! ![]() Next week on 21st of Feb. 2025, my Cello Quartet "Hunter Underwater" will give a concert, a CD release concert in Kühlspot Social Club, Berlin. The Album "Archipelago", we worked since 2020-2022, gathers composition-works from us. Info.: Hunter Underwater is a cello quartet founded by Hui-Chun Lin. The group has been playing together for many years, blending improvised music with compositional ideas. Their music is diverse, ranging from deep, warm, sustained tones to high frequencies. The use of extended techniques, mixing sounds (Noise) and tones, often accompanied by prepared objects on the cellos, as well as complex forms and structures, are characteristic elements of Hunter Underwater. The ensemble’s genre includes improvised and contemporary music, real-time music, and sound art. The compositions of Hunter Underwater often explore themes such as the environment, landscapes, nature, and sometimes history. The group frequently reflects on contemporary events or natural phenomena through their music. The four musicians, all with extensive experience in chamber music, perform in the moment, adding a sense of tension and intensity to their music. They are both composers and improvisers. The Berlin-based Cello Quartet „Hunter Underwater„ consists of Guilherme Rodrigues, Gábor Hartyáni, Guido Kohn, and Hui-Chun Lin. Coming from different cultural backgrounds, they are active in various musical fields. 歲末與芳一,雨樵約在藝術家陳慶銘的鹽埕區工作室#已知用火,做公開即興。那裡認識何承恩,一位年輕的聲音藝術家。
一開始是芳一、雨樵與我三人的即興。 還記得上一次遇到兩位是在2019年的12月31日在高雄即興。延續那感覺很開心地與他們一起做歲末音樂,敘述從20202到2024年間未碰面彼此的音樂延續。 我喜歡彼此的聲音毫無定音在空氣中漂流,微分音從聲帶中飄逸與物件聲響結合,我在大提琴上選音非常自由,沒有聲量的壓力,隨意一起在音樂中遊走。 芳一,可以從不同物件中做聲音。我每次遇到他都感覺到他一直在蛻變中,很專注也執著。 接下來的兩首即興是四個人的即興,與高雄聲音藝術家何承恩一起做即興。他用的物件皆是自製,日常用品外製,甚至用助聽器來發聲。 我們的音樂有時候在雨樵的故事裡,故事外發展,有時候彼此呼印著。有時候像是古音、古詩、古寓言故事、西方、東方故事、東西方聲響交匯。有時候那些狀聲詞與聲音,旋律對似著,一瞬間化成詩意般的畫面。 而我,盤旋在從西方社會來的,手上拿著西方樂器,面對著自己的故鄉、人,語言與藝術。我看著那種繽紛交錯的畫面在彼此對話,彼此撞擊,有時呢喃,有時撞出那噗嗤的幽默。 我喜歡這天即興的不同的片段。聆聽著晚的即興紀錄,需要不少時間,慢慢嚼食。 附上錄音紀錄 照片紀錄:陳慶銘 **看錄音紀錄,與方一、雨樵曾在2020年一月19日在巴多池塘做公開的即興演出。 **藝術家陳慶銘的工作室非常有趣,走在不同層老宅裡欣賞他的作品,也欣賞台灣老宅留下的記憶。 ![]()
承接紀錄27號 [演出] 疊時:意無止 與리 Trio = 李英豪 (vn) 李東熙 (db) 李世揚 (pf)。今天終於開始檢視那天下午在大稻埕的Open Session即興聚會所。
那是一個與約八位來自不同領域的藝術家的下午聚會,一開始我講述了有關於柏林即興現況,之後我們分組做即興。 除了音樂、節奏、聲響外,戲劇,舞蹈,以及繪畫的即興。 當我在書桌前聆聽錄音時,扔感受到當下的震撼以及能量。 當不同領域一起交匯時,綻放繽紛火花;意想不到的組合在瞬間展開 是肢體的舞動觸動琴絃,還是南管般的人聲喚起創作的泉源 是踢踏舞與Body Percussions 的對話引出無數細碎的聲響,當琴絃加入時他們的對話又具戲劇性 看到墨畫隨著聲響舞動,從聲音到視覺的即興碰撞無限大! 其中一段即興:Gabriel,林子寧 (第五首) 以故事形態與聲音交匯,那種喜感、那種戲感 我很喜歡! 一度在劇烈的聲響與舞步中,我們曾笑著說這棟歷史老屋應該承受夠大吧! 感謝林子寧的隨機影片紀錄,從聆聽音樂到觀看影片皆很享受! 感謝李世揚的安排以及東梨學院的Jimi Wen讓這場令人難忘的即興聚會所成行。 附上錄音 附上片段影片檔 ![]() I get this news from my friend: TUNGU I am very happy that his works got a great review, also happy that I am a part of this CD project. It means for me. In the year 2023-24, during I was finding myself and the solo performance-art, this project, give me another way of thinking. Here is the review, see below. Great review from Downtown Music Gallery on my album "Successful Utilization of Elements"( Public Eyesore Records) Initially I thought that I hadn't heard of Tungu before now but another disc showed up this week with Tungu, Mia Zabelka and Stephan Strasser on FMR Records plus Tungu does have a half dozen previous releases. Since each of the 19 pieces is a duo, Tungu gives his guests a chance to stretch out, often quietly, the combination often restrained yet mysterious. Starting out with experimental vocalist Sainko Namchylak, we hear her whispered voice surrounded by eerie electronics, subtle yet effective. It sounds like Tungu had each musician send him a short solo piece which he added to with acoustic bass, samples, field recordings or voice. Tungu obviously listened closely to add sounds which enhance whatever was recorded first. Since the pieces are relatively short, every duo sounds focused and complete with a flow of electronics or samples which seem to bridge the entire long disc. Although I know about half of the musicians or vocalists here, each one has their own career/music path which can be viewed on Discogs. Originally I was going to list the highlights heard here but as I listen every piece is interesting whether I know of the player or not. I will mention one highlight though since it did knock me out and I put it on repeat for several listened. Pedal steel guitarist Susan Alcorn remains one of my musicians ever and here her distinctive steel guitar is framed with a gauze of haunting sounds and perhaps a ringing alarm in the distance. Essential! I listened to this entire disc in two sittings and considering that the disc is around 70 minutes long, I was thoroughly enchanted throughout. - Bruce Lee Gallanter, DMG And here is the music: Bandcamp Nr. 8 Drowning in balance (w/ Hui-Chun Lin) 上一次在Sappho Live Jazz演出已經是疫情前大約2018年時帶著柏林三重奏I'm not Yours, 同行是千野與高橋。這次到Sappho,是新的演出地點,世揚說這是台北的鬧區許多不同活動聚集。這天是聖誕節,我們開心看到Sappho很早就有客人蒞臨點餐、聊天,看我們試音。
這場除了鋼琴、薩克斯風沒有加麥外,大提琴、電吉他接加了麥。我現在聆聽聲音覺得鋼琴被其他的樂器打了下去。 上半場我們以二重奏:大提琴與鋼琴李世揚;大提琴與電吉他陳穎達,大提琴與薩克斯風謝明諺。上半場我沒有錄音,全部要看Sappho是否有保存錄影囉。感覺上很精彩。 下半場開場是三重奏:鋼琴、電吉他以及薩克斯風,之後是四個人的重奏。我開場與結束皆用了十月間與Masa工作的曲子Winterlandcape 以及 Dr. Lego。即興中有了前置的音樂加入又變得不太一樣。 附上錄音 照片是觀眾席的Alex Chen在臉書上的照片分享 |
